Financial Stewardship Series - Introduction: How can we be faithful stewards over our finances in today’s economy?
Okay, so here’s a fun fact about me. I have a degree in Finance and I love to crunch numbers just for fun! So how appropriate that Abba would have me discuss this topic of financial stewardship. Now that doesn’t mean that I have everything perfectly figured out or that all has been rainbows and flowers for me. I’ve had and still have my own trials that I go through as does any believer. Going through a financial hardship is not uncommon. As a matter of fact, it is quite evident unless you’re living under a rock that we are in the last days of life here in the earth as prophesied in the word of God.
What does this have to do with economic hardship? There was a major economic recession that impacted the real estate industry back in 2007 and 2008 that hit close to home since I used to work in the industry in a firmer life. Covid-19 should have also been another humbling experience to cause many to review their financial situation a bit more closely. During that time, many were unexpectedly laid off, furloughed, or forced into early retirement overnight that affected the world on a global scale. It let you know that nothing is promised or lasts forever with many unexpectedly finding themselves in economic distress.
However, it doesn’t mean that all hope is lost. With this in mind, in the first part of this new financial series, I would like to share some money saving tips for those in The Body of Christ not just in these uncertain times but to better steward over what Yah has given us regardless of our financial status. I say regardless of financial status because these tips help to save money whether you’re rich, low income or just a part of the working class. Our finances are important to Yah especially as kingdom citizens.
Remember everything that we have is not our own but belongs to The Lord. With that being said, we want to ensure that we steward faithfully over what He has given us. Yah said in His word that “if we are faithful over a little, He would make us rulers over much.” Ultimately, we know that God is Jehovah Jireh and our provider but we must still do our part. The Great I Am is not going to reward our irresponsibility.
Let us pray:
Lord, Yeshua, Christ Jesus…
I want to thank you for this new series here on the blog fully inspired by your Holy Spirit. I pray that your people will be able to receive from you by way of delivery through me tips and ways to steward with intention for our short time here in the earth. May your people remember that we are merely sojourners here in this realm and this is not our forever home. As foreigners here in this land, may we remember to store up our treasures in heaven where moth cannot destroy. May your people not be swayed by culture and societal standards seeking their heaven here on earth instead of seeking ye first the kingdom of God. Please continue to use me as you see fit in this ministry you have so graciously given me to steward over. In your mighty, beautiful, wonderful and matchless name I pray. Amen and it is so…hallelujah!
So what about you? How are you faring over your finances in these tumultuous and uncertain economic times in the kingdom?
Remember that you are loved by the one who died for you,
